catatan pendek untuk seorang teman yang ingin berlibur di Bali part 2 (when you stay in ubud)


catatan ini adalah panduan singkat yang saya buat dan  kirimkan untuk teman saya berkebangsaan italia yang akan melanjutkan liburannya dari yogyakarta ke Bali dengan tujuan awal tinggal di Kuta  kemudian pindah ke daerah ubud.

where to stay??
along side ubud street and campuan there many resort and hotel (but expensive)..so, where i can get the cheap but comfortable enough?
 try to search around MONKEY FOREST area : try SAGITARIUS INN (150-200K) or ADI cottages (100-200K), or Jati Home stay (150-200 view ricefield and natural scenary)





what to do?
ubud is crowned (coronata) as the best village in the world by some international tourism agency and international tourism association. ubud is the centre of  art and culture. So many activities you can do when you stay here.
1.      rafting on AYUNG RIVER and TELAGA WAJA RIVER (This river has higer level in challange  than ayung)..you can join the rafting via tour agency with normal package per person Rp.300.000 (local people i dont know for foreign..maybe same/little bit more expensive...for 8KM river)
2.      just walking around ubud village and ubud street..try to explore side walk of ubud, the village, the people ubud bali. Feel and treat your self as a part of ubud people life.
3.      visit house of MANGKU KETUT LIYER (paranormal, fortune teller)..he is the central character in one of best hollywood film EAT, PRAY, LOVE (starring by JULIA ROBERT..film from best seller american novel eat, pray love written by elizabeth gilbert. shooting is in this house)
4.      ubud trekking ( via green area behind the king ubud palace)
5.      museum antonio blanco (for local : Rp.35K) and other art museum
6.      monkey forest.
7.      tegalalang to see balinese ricefield
8.      balinese dance performance  : KECAK, BARONG,LEGONG DANCE. (kecak is very recomended. usually in ubud palace)

11.  tirta empul : temple with holy spring pond (peacefull) (in Tampak siring)
12.  ULUN DANU BATUR TEMPLE then go for viewing panorama in penelokan kintamani to see MOUNT AND LAKE BATUR from above...but after thet you can ride to go down to the lake and ride up again back to penelokan, then go to BESAKIH (mother temple) than go to traditional balinese village name PENGLIPURAN in bangli and back to ubud
13.  buying gift : many handicrat in UBUD art market and  tegalalang.

what to eat?
many europe resto there but the balinese food you must try : babi guling bu Oka (roasted pork), bebek bengil (balinese duck), nasi ayam kadewatan (chicken)-in kadewatan village, UBUD..u also can drink balinese cafe in peaceful condition.

special notes
temple in bali is not like in Java, india,thailand or in burma...balinese/indonesia call the hindus temple in bali as PURA..so it will be better for you to say PURA BESAKIH not BESAKIH TEMPLE
